About our sawmill
Logs from Slovak forests, sawn here in Podrečany. Every cubic metre passes through our hands — from choosing the timber to loading it at pickup. That is why we can vouch for the quality and cut sizes you will not find in any price list.
How we started
Sawing timber since 2008
-
2008
KROVY-SK s.r.o. — the first sawmill
We started out sawing logs into timber for roof trusses and buildings. The experience from that first sawmill stays with us to this day.
-
2010
TIMBER WOOD SK s.r.o.
KROVY-SK gradually became a haulage company, so log sawing and structural timber production passed to a new company — TIMBER WOOD SK.

Today
The sawmill in Podrečany
A team of twenty-six, around 20,000 m³ of softwood logs a year and certified timber that customers collect right at the yard.
Building the production hall at the sawmill.
The Podrečany yard today.
Production
Twin-blade saws and Slovak logs
We process timber on WEP Sabinov angle saws. Each year we saw around 20,000 m³ of softwood logs — mostly from Slovak forests.
Common sections are in stock; anything else we cut to order — any size up to 200 mm wide, 250 mm high and 10 metres long.
Species we process
- Spruce
- Fir
- Larch
Quality
Certified timber, not just our word for it
Our structural timber is visually strength-graded and holds factory production control certificate 1478-CPR-0101 to EN 14081-1:2005 + A1:2011, issued by notified body No. 1478 (LIGNOTESTING, a.s., Bratislava).
In practice that means one thing: every order comes with its documents. Building a roof that has to pass final inspection? No paperwork to chase.
“We aim to satisfy our customers 100%.”
Why wood
Humanity’s oldest building material
Strong and flexible
Wood is flexible and keeps its load-bearing capacity when heated. Exact properties depend on the species, growing conditions and the age of the tree.
Insulates heat and vibration
It insulates well against heat and vibration. A timber interior is usually comfortable — and looks good.
Durable and long-lasting
It stands up to weather and lasts a long time. It can be painted or varnished without losing its grain and character.
Wood has its own scent, texture and colour, and a room simply feels better with it. That is why people have built with wood for millennia — and why builders keep coming back to it today.
